The Northlake Elementary Choir’s end-of-year performance was held May 27. Fourth of July vendors

We are looking for local food vendors and other activities for the Fourth of July celebration. If interested in setting up a booth please sign up at Tooele City Parks and Recreation 843-2140. This year we are having a bouncing village, petting zoo, mechanical bull, car show, army tanks and sprinkler for the kids to run through.

Fourth of July live bands

Also looking for live bands to perform on the July 3-4, which we will compensate for your time. If you would like to perform call Susan Trujillo at 882-5496. Other activities include, July 5, Ty Hearndon concert 7 p.m. at THS football field, with fireworks after.

Stampede days

Pioneer jubilee

Tooele County Chapter of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers is pleased to announce its annual Pioneer Jubilee on Saturday, June 7, 2008. Activities will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food will also be available at a minimal charge.

Volunteers needed

Geocaching trip

Tooele Christian Community Youth Association is going on Geocaching trip to Middle Canyon on Saturday, June 28. This activity is open to seventh grade and up. Train museum

Tooele Valley Railroad Museum now open for the 2008 season. We will be open through the summer, Tuesday through Saturday, 1-4 p.m. We are located at 35 N. Broadway. No admission charge. Donations appreciated.

Singles dinner

The Tooele East Stake will be sponsoring a singles dinner the first Saturday of each month for anyone 30 years of age and over. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. at the Pine Canyon church building.

Irrigation

Grantsville Irrigation is now starting to monitor residential users. Metered users have 250,000 gallons per year. All users not being metered must adhere to the following regulations: don't leave sprinkler in any one spot more than 1.5 hours; the maximum weekly usage is eight hours; no open hoses; no watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Fourth of July event

Grantsville City Fourth of July event is Tooele County's largest event all year. We have a few rides and games available for a county non-profit group or orginization to run and we are looking for one more live band. Carshow entries. Parade entries and there are no limitations on parade entries in Grantsville. Contact Jason Duhon at 830-9714.

Summer School registration will be on Monday, June 16, at 6:30 a.m. Three sessions are available from 8 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. beginning on June 16 through July 16. $30.00 per quarter credit. Summer reading program

Our theme for this years summer reading program is "Catch the Reading Bug at your library". Registration for the Summer Reading Program will go until July 5, 2008.

Worm jar

Try your luck with our "Worm Jar", starting now until July 11, 2008. This program is for all ages, and each week a jar with a different number of gummy worms will be at the front desk. See if you can figure out how many are in the jar. The correct guess wins a prize.

Adult Education

Get your high school diploma this year. All classes required for a high school diploma, adult basic education, GED preparation, word processing, driver's education and English as a second language are available. Register now to graduate -- just $35 per semester. Located at 76 S. 1000 West, and can be reached at 833-1994. Adult education classes are for students 18 and over. Summer school on Tuesday and Wednesday 5-9 p.m.

Take GED

The Tooele Adult Education Center is offering a GED preparation class. The class will be held Wednesday's from 6-9 p.m. Cost is $35. Call 833-1994 for additional information. Summer school, Wednesday 5-7 p.m.

English as second language

ESOL conversational classes are held Monday and Thursday from 7-9 p.m. ESOL students may also come anytime the center is open for individualized study. Registration is $35 per semester. Summer school, Tuesday and Wednesday 7-9 p.m.

Food pantry

The First Baptist Church in Tooele is offering a clothing closet and emergency food pantry to help meet the needs of our community. Anyone with clothing needs -- adults and children -- are welcome. Powered wheelchairs

Wishes on wheels makes available Electric Power Wheelchairs to non-ambulatory Senior Citizens and the permanently disabled of any age, if they qualify. The wheelcahirs are for those that can't walk or operate a manual wheelcahir.

Installation of officers

The Tooele Eagles #164 Aerie and Auxiliary will install the new officers for 2008-09 on Saturday, June 7, 2008, at 5 p.m. at the lodge. A Swiss steak dinner will be served following the installation.
